Workshops
Workshops provide hands-on experience to Congress delegates interested in learning or trying out something through active participation. Workshops have a well-defined theme that enables delegates to share practical strategies and approaches to their work as researchers and as teachers. Workshops are proposed by Congress delegates, with proposers assuming responsibility for organizing a 60- or 90-minute Workshop during ICME-16, including supplying any materials or equipment needed. There is no formal publication of ICME-16 Workshop materials.
Congress delegates wishing to organize a Workshop at ICME-16 will need to submit a proposal. It should include information about the Workshop Leader and about any other people who will assist with running the Workshop, the name of the Workshop as it should appear in the ICME-16 program and a description of the Workshop, including its aims, the activities that will take place, and any other specific requirements, i.e., multimedia facilities. The LOC will let the proposers know in advance whether the requirements can be met. The IPC expects that Workshops will be designed to give delegates practical and interactive experience with a professional focus, not a commercial one. Workshops designed primarily to promote a particular product or service can only be delivered through sponsorship arrangements.
Once the Workshop has been accepted, the Leader will be provided with the ICME-16 Guidelines to help them plan the session and prepare information about the Workshop for inclusion in the ICME-16 Program. During the Congress, the Workshop Leader will conduct the Workshop session.
